2022 Town of Fairplay Events

  • February 26 – Fairplay’s Mountain Mardi Gras Celebration, 6pm, American Legion, click here for more information.
  • May 21 – Fairplay Cemetery Clean Up Day, at the end of County Road 16 (Castello Avenue, east side of Hwy. 285), 9am – Noon. Join the Town and the American Legion for our annual clean-up day at the cemetery. Bring gloves, weed eaters, rakes, garden and yard tools.   • June 3, 4, & 5 – Fairplay Town Clean Up Days, for Town residents and businesses, proof of residency showing physical address is required. Friday and Saturday, 7:30am – 4:30pm, Sunday, 7:30am – 3pm. A list of acceptable and not acceptable items will be available closer to the event date.   • June 4 – Huck Finn Day at the Fairplay Beach, free fishing in Colorado all weekend! For information contact the Division of Wildlife at 303-916-0784.
  • June 11 – South Park High School Graduation
  • June 11 – South Park Trails Heavy Marathon and Heavy 1⁄2 Marathon, www.humanpotentialrunning.com

  • July 4 – “Fairplay’s Independence Day Celebration” - Start your celebration this year with the Burro Buster 5k scholarship race, enter your pooch in the “Strut Your Mutt” dog competition, watch the parade or be a part of the parade, enjoy food, beer and wine during the outdoor concert. End the night with an awesome fireworks show (dependent on fire ban) over the Fairplay Beach!   • July 28-31 – Fairplay Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show, River Park Event Site, 200 PlatteDrive, 9am – 5pm, FREE Admission and FREE Parking. 24 well-spaced dealers at this outdoor show.   • July 29 – TGIFairplay Free Concert Series, 5pm – 9pm, Front Street or 5th Street
  • July 29-31 - “73rd Burro Days Celebration” – This historic event takes place all weekend with arts, craft and food vendors, burro, llama, dog and outhouse races, a parade, live music, cowboy church, and more!   • August 13-14 – Living History Days at the South Park City Museum, Gunfights, 40+ buildings of Local Mining Town History & Period Costumes.
